Fasihuddin (PSP): Mr. Fasihuddin is the founder of Pakistan Society of Criminology and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Journal of Criminology. He is MBBS, LLB and MA in Political Science with Gold Medal. He is a senior officer of Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and the author of ‘Expanding Criminology to Pakistan’. He presented his field experiences in many international conferences and seminars and visited many countries including USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Turkey, Thailand, Nepal, China and Japan. A number of his papers are published internationally. He is widely known in the international community of criminologists and is committed to bring criminology to Pakistan as an established and independent discipline. |

Prof. Scott Decker Ph.D: Dr. Scott H. Decker is Professor and Director in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University. He received the BA in Social Justice from DePauw University, and the MA and PhD in Criminology from Florida State University. His main research interests are in the areas of gangs, criminal justice policy, and the offender's perspective. His most recent books include European Street Gangs and Troublesome Youth Groups (Winner of the American Society of Criminology, Division of International Criminology Outstanding Distinguished book award, 2006) and Drug Smugglers on Drug Smuggling: Lessons from the Inside (Temple University Press, 2008, CHOICE Academic Press Book of the Year). His forthcoming book (with Hugh Barlow) Criminology and Public Policy: Putting Theory to Work will be published in 2010 by Temple University Press. |

Prof. Minoru YOKOYAMA: Prof. Minoru YOKOYAMA, completed his B. A. in Law and M. A. in both Criminal Law and Sociology at Chuo University in Tokyo. He finished the doctorial course at Chuo University. He is a vice president of Kokugakuin University, a professor and former Dean of the Faculty of Law, and a chairperson of International Exchange Committee of Kokugakuin University in Tokyo. He is a former 2nd Vice President of the Research Committee for the Sociology of Deviance and Social Control of the International Sociological Association. He is a former president of the Japanese Association of Sociological Criminology, a president of the Tokyo Study Group of Sociological Criminology, and a member of the board of directors of both the Japanese Association of Social Problems and the Japanese Association of Sociological Criminology. He is a member of Presidium of General Assembly of the Asian Criminological Society. He works as a vice-chair of Local Arrangement Committee, 16th World Congress, International Society for Criminology. He is a member of Presidium of General Assembly of the Asian Criminological Society. He has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and symposia, and had published numerous articles in professional journals. |

Prof. Charles Hou Ph.D: Dr. Charles Hou was born in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in sociology from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, U.S.A., in 1984. Dr. Hou is currently serving as the President of National Taipei University, a median size university in Taiwan with a student population of around 10,000. Dr. Hou’s academic interests are juvenile delinquency and police behavior.
Dr. Hou is a life member of the American Society of Criminology. He is honored as a Fulbright scholar in 1992-1993. In Taiwan, Dr. Hou is very active in criminology community. He serves as a standing member for the Minister of Justice of Taiwan concerning the problems of crime and crime prevention.

Dr. Raja Saadat Ali Asad: Dr. Raja Saadat Ali Asad, PhD, did his LLB from University of Punjab (2003), Masters in Crime, Human Rights and Internatioanl Community from University of Westminster, London (2006) and did his PhD in 2009. He worked as the Director Institutional Restructuring in Gender Reform Action Plan with the Ministry of Women Development. He has worked with many International Organizations including UNODC. Prof. Qibla Ayaz (Endinburgh University, Scotland) is a well-known scholar on Islamic studies and contemporary issues like Islam and modernism, inter-faith peace and Islam and modern political thoughts, etc. Currently, he is the Chairman, Department of Seerat Studies, Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Peshawar. Mr. Basharat Hussain: Mr. Basharat Hussain has MA (Social work) with Gold Medal distinction. At the present, he is doing his PhD in Criminology, University of Hull, UK. He worked as a lecturer in the Department of Social Work, University of Peshawar, during 1998-2003. He conducted a number of research projects on various social issues in Pakistan. He closely worked with many international organizations including UNICEF, ILO, JICA and UNDCP. Mr. Syed Akhtar Ali Shah (PSP): Mr. Syed Akhtar Ali Shah is one of the brilliant and senior officers of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP). He is MA in Political Science (with distinction) LLB and LLM. He has an excellent record of 25 years of active police service, and received both the gallantry awards, the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal (QPM) and the President Police Medal (PPM) for his outstanding performance as a best field police officer. In addition to his diversified experience in various law-enforcement agencies, he is a known academic, scholar and researcher in the police department. He has written some excellent research papers for the police department on a number of topics including police reforms and crisis management. Ms. Laila Bokhari: Ms Laila Bokhari is a research fellow with the Afghanistan and Pakistan Programme of the Department of Security and Crisis Management, Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). Bokhari is also a visiting fellow with the International centre for the Study of Political Violence and Radicalisation (King’s College, UK). From 2001-2009 she worked with the Terrorism and Security project of the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI). She is educated in international relations and security studies from the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Norway. Her areas of research cover the phenomenon of terrorism, the study of radicalization and de-radicalization processes, and the evolution of radical Islamism and political violence with a particular focus on Pakistan and Afghanistan. Previous research assignments have also included issues of international law and counter terrorism, women and terrorism, post-conflict and state-building after conflict in Afghanistan, and political and historical aspects of the Pakistani and Indian nuclear programmes. She is currently completing a book-project on terrorism and radicalization in Pakistan. |

Mr. Abdul Khalique Shaikh (PSP): Mr. Abdul Khalique Shaikh is a senior police officer in Sindh. He is LLB, LLM (Criminal Justice) from Oxford Brookes University and Barrister-at-Law from Lincolns Inn, UK. In addition to his field service achievement, he is widely known for his academic pursuits. He regularly writes for Daily Dawn and other esteemed newspapers on issues related to Human Rights, violence against women, police reforms and juvenile justice legislation. |

Dr. Khurshid Iqbal: Dr Khurshid Iqbal is Additional District & Sessions Judge. He has obtained his PhD in Human Rights from the University of Ulster, UK (2007), LLM in International Business Law, as a British Chevening Scholar from the University of Hull, UK (2002), MA Political Science (1996) and LLB (1990) with Distinction from the University of Peshawar. Besides his various judicial postings, he has served as an Additional Member Inspection at the Peshawar High Court, Peshawar, where he was a founding editor of the Peshawar High Court’s Quarterly NEWSLETTR since 2004 and compiled the Annual Report of the Peshawar High Court for the year 2003. After his PhD, Dr Iqbal was appointed the founding Director of the Judicial Training Center (JTC), which was established by the Peshawar High Court in 2008. He is also a Resource Person of the Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad and a visiting Lecturer in International Human Rights Law, International Development Law and Pakistan’s Constitutional Law at the Law College, the University of Peshawar. His PhD work—“The Right to Development in International Law: the Case of Pakistan”—has been published by Routledge.Cavendish, London, 2009. During his early period of PhD studies, Dr Iqbal was a sub editor of the Journal of Islamic State Practices in International Law published from UK. His key peer reviewed articles include: (summer 2009) ‘Re conceptualizing the Right to Development in Islamic Law’, International Journal of Human Rights. Vol. 13, (forthcoming); (2007) ‘The Declaration on the Right to Development and its Implementation’, Political Perspective. Vol. 1(1), pp 1-39; and, (2005) ‘The “War on Terror” and the Rights-Based Approach to Development’, Journal of Islamic States Practices in International Law (JISPIL) Vol. 1(1), pp 23-36. He also takes keen interest in Human Rights and Criminology and plays active role in the Criminal Justice Coordination Committee at DI Khan, where he is currently posted. |
